A 40-year-old Wichita man died Tuesday evening after a reported drowning at an east Wichita apartment complex pool, the Wichita Police Department confirmed.
Officers responded around 6:15 p.m. Aug. 18, to Lincoln Meadows Apartments in the 9000 block of East Lincoln, between Rock and Webb roads, Officer Brad Wright, a WPD spokesman, said by email to the Wichita Eagle.
"When officers arrived, they found EMS and the Wichita Fire Department rendering life-saving measures on a 40-year-old Wichita man by the pool," Wright wrote. "EMS transported the man to a hospital, where he died at 7:17 p.m."
Three agencies responded: the Wichita Police Department, the Wichita Fire Department and Sedgwick County EMS, according to dispatch records reported by KSN.
Police have not released the man's name. Wright did not answer questions about what circumstances may have led to the suspected drowning, calling it an ongoing investigation.
