Southwest Airlines is bringing back Saturday nonstop flights between Wichita and Orlando for summer 2027, the second consecutive summer Southwest will offer the seasonal route.

Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport announced the returning service in a Tuesday, Oct. 6, Facebook post. Bookings are available for travel through Aug. 2, 2027, according to the Eagle, as reported by the Wichita Eagle. Southwest plans to release the rest of its summer schedule in December.

Rachel Mayberry, air service and marketing manager for the Wichita Airport Authority, said the nonstop flights will run on Saturdays during the summer. The route connects Wichita's airport (ICT) to Orlando International Airport (MCO).

What tickets cost

The Wichita Eagle price-checked one-way fares on Wednesday, Oct. 7, using Southwest's Choice tier. Choice is the airline's second pricing level and includes selection of an available Standard seat at booking.

Fares from Wichita to Orlando ranged from $234 to $434, depending on the date. The cheapest departures were June 12, 2027, along with July 10, July 17, July 24 and July 31 among the dates checked, all at $234 one way. The priciest was June 5, 2027, at $434. Return flights from Orlando to Wichita ranged from $234 to $371.

Fares are subject to change.

Broader route growth at ICT

The Orlando route is part of a stretch of new service announcements at the airport. Southwest is also launching nonstop flights between Wichita and Nashville International Airport starting in March 2027. The airport currently offers 15 nonstop destinations on six airlines, according to its website.

ICT was also awarded a $1 million federal grant through the U.S. Department of Transportation's Small Community Air Service Development Program to recruit nonstop service to a major East Coast hub. Target markets include Charlotte or one of three New York City-area airports.

Wichita has seasonal nonstop flights to several Florida destinations but no year-round Florida service, KSN reported.

Southwest plans to release its full summer 2027 schedule, including any flights after Aug. 2, in December.
