No. 22 Kansas swept Wichita State volleyball 25-17, 25-17, 25-12 on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Charles Koch Arena. The loss dropped the Shockers to 3-7 on the season.

Kansas hit .299 as a team while holding Wichita State to a negative hitting percentage of -.023, according to GoShockers.com. The Shockers committed 22 attack errors on 86 attempts and managed just 20 kills.

Kansas recorded 11 team blocks to Wichita State's two and piled up nine aces to the Shockers' one.

Taylor Stanley led Kansas with 15 kills on .481 hitting and finished with 17.0 points. Reese Ptacek added 10 kills while hitting .571.

Jenna Cubbage paced Wichita State with five kills and four digs. Danielle Moore chipped in four kills. Setter Addie Oeth dished nine assists and seven digs, while Jordan Heatherly added eight assists.

Gabi Maas anchored the back row with a team-high 11 digs. Grace Hett contributed eight.

Wichita State hit -.088 in the opening set. Kansas pulled away late, closing the match with a 25-12 third set.

The loss extends Wichita State's skid to three straight. All three defeats have come against top-25 opponents, according to Northern Iowa's athletics site.

Head coach Chris Lamb, in his 27th season and WSU's all-time wins leader at 547-264, entered the year having lost nearly two-thirds of last season's kill production. Brooklyn Leggett and Emerson Wilford graduated, and Sydney Dunning suffered a season-ending knee injury, according to the Wichita Eagle. In 2025 American Athletic Conference play, the Shockers went 9-0 when hitting at least .270 and 1-6 when they fell short of that mark.

Wichita State travels to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to face Northern Iowa (4-5) in a two-match series. The first match is Friday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. CT, and the second is Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. CT. Both will be played at McLeod Center and streamed on ESPN+. It will be the Shockers' first trip to Cedar Falls in nine years and the first meeting between the programs since Wichita State left the Missouri Valley Conference in 2017.
