A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper suffered minor injuries Aug. 17, after a crash involving a patrol vehicle and a semi-truck on southbound Interstate 135 near downtown Wichita.

The collision occurred near the 2nd Street exit, according to KWCH. The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed the trooper's injuries were minor but has not released the trooper's name or the cause of the crash.

No cause has been released.

The wreck shut down southbound I-135, forcing traffic off the highway at Central Avenue. A second, unrelated crash near the 8th/9th Street exit compounded delays on the same stretch of road.

Drivers were advised to bypass the closures and re-enter southbound I-135 at the 1st Street on-ramp.

The condition of the semi-truck driver has not been reported.
