The Cheesecake Factory opened in Wichita for the first time Monday, Sept. 28, drawing crowds to a soft opening at Bradley Fair.

The national chain's first Wichita location opens to the public at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 2020 N. Rock Road, according to KAKE. The restaurant occupies the former Outback Steakhouse space on the west side of Bradley Fair, next to Pottery Barn.

The Wichita Police Department posted on X that its Public Information Unit attended the soft opening for lunch. The department said the Wichita community came out to get an early taste of the food and that many residents showed up for the preview.

The restaurant has been in the works for nearly a year. The chain pulled a construction permit for the Bradley Fair site in late October 2025, KMUW reported. Crews hung the Cheesecake Factory sign on the building in late July 2026, and hiring for nearly 300 positions began that same week, according to KMUW's July report.

The menu lists more than 250 items, including more than 30 flavors of cheesecake, according to the restaurant's website.

Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. The restaurant offers a brunch menu Saturday and Sunday until 2 p.m. and happy hour in the bar area Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Parties of six or fewer can reserve through the Cheesecake Rewards app or online. Larger groups can call the restaurant, 316-237-0840, for off-peak times.
