PrairieLand Partners plans to build a $14.3 million John Deere sales and service center in Goddard, closing its existing Wichita and Andale locations once the new facility opens.

The 70,000-square-foot center will sit on 26.2 acres at 1840 S. 215th St. W., the Wichita Eagle reported on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The company has filed a site-plan summary with the Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department and expects to pull a building permit from the city of Goddard soon.

Construction is planned to start in fall 2026. Completion is targeted for fall 2027.

Mike Ramsey, regional operations manager for PrairieLand Partners, told the Eagle the company has outgrown its Wichita location at 2218 S. West St. and has no room to expand there. He said Goddard puts the dealership closer to customers coming from the south and west.

"It's more accessible for guys coming from the south and west, and not much further for the guys coming from the east," Ramsey told the Eagle on Sept. 8.

The Wichita and Andale stores will close after the Goddard facility is up and running, though Ramsey said he did not have a specific timeline for those closures. All employees at both locations will be offered jobs at the new site.

PrairieLand Partners currently employs 32 to 35 people at its Wichita and Andale stores combined. The company hopes to employ 40 to 45 at the Goddard center, a figure Ramsey said was stated about a year ago when the project was first presented to the Goddard City Council.

The new facility will sell and service equipment ranging from turf to large agricultural equipment, including precision and specialized ag equipment.

To attract the project, the Goddard City Council unanimously approved a sales tax exemption on construction-related costs and a 100% property tax abatement for the first 10 years. Those incentives were approved at a council meeting in summer 2025, when PrairieLand Partners first made its plans public.

"We are very supportive of this project … We're excited to see further investment in this community. It will bring a significant number of jobs," Goddard Deputy City Manager Ryan Shrack told the Eagle on Sept. 4.

PrairieLand Partners describes itself as the largest John Deere dealership network serving central and southeast Kansas. It operates 15 locations across the state, including stores in Hutchinson, Emporia and McPherson.

The company still needs to secure its building permit from Goddard before breaking ground.
