A $5,000 reward is available for information in the killing of Lorretta Moody, 67, of Wichita.

Crime Stoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County announced the reward Thursday, Sept. 24, more than a week after Moody's body was found inside a suitcase at Fire Station 22 at 2659 South Hydraulic. Two people carried the suitcase to the station on the evening of Sept. 16 and told firefighters a body was inside. Firefighters requested police at approximately 6:25 p.m., KSN reported.

No arrests have been made.

The Wichita Police Department said detectives questioned the two individuals who delivered the suitcase but has not released their names. Investigators have not disclosed any connection between the pair and Moody, according to KWCH.

Wichita police said on social media Thursday that the investigation is ongoing and asked for the community's help. The day before the reward was announced, Wichita Police Department spokesman Andrew Ford said by email that detectives were following up on leads and speaking with people who may have relevant information, according to the Wichita Eagle's Sept. 23 report.

The WPD officially identified Moody on Friday, Sept. 18, in a media advisory and classified her death as a homicide. A missing persons report for Moody had been filed in the early morning hours of Sept. 16, the same day her body was found. She was last seen in the 2400 block of South Mosley, not far from the fire station.

Family members described Moody as 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing roughly 70 pounds. She could barely walk on her own and was supposed to be on oxygen at all times, according to a family member's Facebook post reported by the Eagle. She was not using a walker, receiving supplemental oxygen or taking her daily medications when she went missing.

Moody's family set up a GoFundMe page with a goal of $5,500 to help cover funeral costs. Close to $1,000 had been raised as of Wednesday, Sept. 23, the Eagle reported.
