A 92-year-old man was hospitalized after a vehicle struck him on the evening of Sept. 13 in southeast Wichita.

Wichita police officers found the man lying in the road near the intersection of Oliver Avenue and Mount Vernon Road at about 6:15 p.m., the department told KSN. Officers had been responding to a separate call nearby when they spotted him, KWCH reported.

First responders transported the man to a hospital. His name has not been released.

The driver was an 18-year-old Wichita woman, according to the Wichita Police Department. She remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.

No charges had been announced as of reports published Sept. 14. The crash investigation remains open.
