A man died Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of West Pawnee and South Meridian Avenue in southwest Wichita.

The crash was reported around 6:50 p.m. Sept. 10, according to KAKE. Officers found a male pedestrian in extremely critical condition at the scene. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim is believed to be in his 60s, KWCH reported. The Wichita Police Department has not released his identity pending notification of next of kin, KSN reported.

Lt. Stephanie Neal of the Wichita Police Department told KSN that "speed, alcohol, and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash."

None of the reports from local TV stations included details about the driver or the vehicle involved. The department's Critical Accident Team is investigating.
